Scott McGibbon

Scott is a leading expert on built heritage management, innovation, and skills which is supported by his applied research work.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (FCIOB), the Institute of Innovation and Knowledge, as well a member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation, BIM4 Heritage and a member of CIF - International Scientific Committee of ICOMOS on Education and Training.

He has an PhD in Construction Project Management from Heriot Watt University - focused on system thinking, innovation and digitalisation within the Built Heritage - whose doctorate thesis is titled:
"A Common Structured Integrated Collaborative Digitised (CrOsS) Framework for the Historic Building Repair and Maintenance (R&M) Sector".

As a former stonemason, project manager, SME construction contractor, lecturer, and researcher. Scott brings a unique perspective and ability to the consultative approach, providing business, industry, academic and research understanding to the critical nature of communicating and collaborating effectively and aligning teams, to work towards growth and resilience.

Scott has played an influential role in developing and driving the action plan of continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Government policies and the wider UK and International Built Heritage Sector. For example, he is part of several Built Heritage Leadership Groups, and is a board member for Glasgow City Heritage Trust (GCHT) while Pvotal Consultancy Ltd were selected as a key contributor to the 2025 World Heritage List, carrying out a review on the world famous Minoan Palatial Centres (Greece).
